Creating an Advert
Sellers can create adverts to advertise pets (for sale, adoption or for stud), events, accessories for sale, or services they provide.
Buyers can create Wanted adverts in order to look for particular pets, accessories, or services they cannot currently find on the Pets4Homes market.
To create an advert, please follow the instructions below.
- Log in to your Pets4Homes account and click on the "+New Advert" button on the top right corner of the Pets4Homes website.
- If this is your first advert, you will be asked to verify your number via text message. You are required to fill in a valid UK phone number for your advert - this is one of the ways we verify our users and keep Pets4Hoems safe. You can choose if you want to remove your phone number from your advert later.
Council licensed or KC Assured Breeders in the Pets4Homes Breeder Directory:
Your phone number will be listed on your adverts by default, but you may choose to remove the "Call" option from your advert if you wish. - Select the category of the advert you would like to create - there are four types:
- (Seller or Buyer) Pet
- (Seller or Buyer) Accessories
- (Seller or Buyer) Service
- (Organiser) Event
- (For pets, accessories and services) Choose the subcategory that applies to your advert:
- For sale - Pets advertised for sale, usually at a higher cost than adoption listings.
- For adoption - Rescues and individuals rehoming pets they can no longer keep.
- For stud - Listings for stud services.
- Wanted - For buyers to search for pets and services.
- Acessories and Services - If you're offering to sell accessories/services
- Fill in the remaining details of your advert following the additional steps as instructed
- Decide if you want to set a deposit on your advert (for dogs and cats advertised in the For Sale section). This is the amount of money you receive immediately when a buyer pays via our Pet Payment service before collection. If you set no deposit here, you will receive the full price of your advert only when the buyer has collected their pet.
- When you have finished adding details, click "Submit" after reviewing the advert summary.
- Pay the listing fee. You may also choose to boost your advert for higher visibility. The boost can also be applied after your advert has been published.
Congratulations! You have now created an advert on Pets4Homes!
You can view it at any time under "My Adverts."
When will my advert be posted?
Generally, if all of the information in the advert looks right and there are no issues discovered, adverts are published within minutes from submission. Otherwise, it may take longer. To ensure that adverts are genuine and contain the required information our Trust & Safety team will manually review listings. Until your advert is accepted, it will say "Pending."
Abiding by Our Rules
Your listing may be placed on hold if you break one of our advert posting rules.
